Notifications are the emails Marzipan sends your customers on your behalf: order confirmations, shipping updates, subscription and gift emails, payment links, recovery emails and more. Each one can be turned on or off and reworded, and they share one look that you set once. Navigate to Settings > Notifications to manage them. The page is titled Customer notifications.
The notifications your team receives, such as new-order and low-stock alerts, are chosen per person under Settings > Team.

The notifications list

Notifications are grouped by area, for example Order, Subscription, Gift and Gift Vouchers. Each one shows what it’s for and an on or off badge. Click one to edit it.

Editing a notification

Each notification has:
  • Subject - the email’s subject line
  • Preheader - the short line many inboxes show beside or beneath the subject
  • Active - whether the email is sent at all. The order confirmation can’t be turned off.
  • Content - the body of the email, in an editor that offers the merge tags and blocks that notification can use, such as the customer’s name or the order summary
Click Preview to see the email as a customer will, then save your changes.
Some emails include sections that only show when they apply. The welcome, gift reveal and package change emails, for example, have a has benefits condition: a line you put inside it only appears when the subscriber’s package has a benefit to list. See Packages.

Appearance

Click Appearance at the top of the notifications list to set how every email looks:
  • Accent colour - used for buttons, the gift voucher card and anything else coloured. Leave it blank for the standard black.
  • Accent text colour - the writing on the accent colour. Marzipan picks light or dark for you so it stays readable; set a colour to override it.
  • Logo position - Left, Center or Right
  • Logo height
  • Sign off - shown at the end of every email, above the footer, so you don’t need it in each notification
  • Footer - the notice in the box at the foot of every email, a good place for your address or company number. Leave it blank for the standard wording.
A preview beside the settings shows the result, switchable between Desktop and Mobile.
Emails only go out once your sending domain is verified. See Email.
